Town are yet to announce how long both players have signed for, but they are the second and third of the six existing players offered terms to commit again to the club.

After initially arriving as a winger on a free transfer from League Two Mansfield a year ago, 27-year-old Brown displaced fellow summer signing Mat Sadler at left back.

He went on to make 40 appearances last season, including 31 in the league, to emerge as a player of the year contender.

But his campaign ended abruptly on April 2 when he damaged knee ligaments in the 5-1 home defeat to eventual champions Wigan.

The news means Brown will compete for the left-back spot with Sadler and new arrival from Port Vale, Ryan McGivern.

Brown knows new signing AJ Leitch-Smith from their days at Crewe coming through the ranks together.

Burton, 19, has played for England at Under-16, Under-17 and Under-18 levels, made his debut in the 3-0 defeat at Swindon on the final day of the last season.

With Leutwiler, Brown and Burton now signed up, the club are still to announce what's happening with captain Nathaniel Knight-Percival, James Wesolowski and goalkeeper Mark Halstead.
