Jermaine Grandison returns to light training
Jermaine Grandison has returned to light training and could rejoin Shrewsbury Town's survival push this weekend.
The 25-year-old centre back has missed the last two games after undergoing a procedure on his troublesome hip 10 days ago.
But he has starting running again and although he won't be in contention for tomorrow's visit of Sheffield United, he could be available for Saturday's trip to Gillingham.
"We'll be told hopefully Thursday morning that he'll be training with us, so he's got a couple of days trying to get close to being able to work with us," said Town manager Micky Mellon.
"It's too early for Sheffield but he might possibly be fit for the weekend.
"He did a bit of running today but when they're not in full training, they don't really come into contact with us.
"We're just told in the morning what the injured guys are up to."
Grandison could be the third Town centre back to return to action in as many games.
Zak Whitbread came back for Saturday's 1-1 draw against Bradford while captain Nathaniel Knight-Percival returns for the visit of the Blades, both after serving suspensions.
