Town pair backed to learn from their errors

Shrewsbury Town pair Mat Sadler and Sullay Kaikai have been backed to bounce back from their errors at the weekend.

A stray pass from Kaikai – who had put Town ahead in the 2-2 draw against Scunthorpe – led to the Iron's first goal.

That was scored by Kyle Wootton, before Sadler's back-pass let in Paddy Madden for their second.

Kaikai's strike was his second in a row and made him the club's seven-goal leading scorer in the league, while Sadler has been otherwise solid since replacing Junior Brown at left-back.

Striker Andy Mangan, who claimed a touch on the last-gasp equaliser, has lent his support, saying: "Sads has done absolutely great since he's come in – he's been fantastic.

"I wouldn't blame Sads for the goal – I'd never blame any individual for any goal. You can always source it back but we're a team and we conceded as a team.

"He probably had a hand in the equaliser so you look at it in two ways.

"He's shown a massive amount of character after being out of the side and then to come back in and play the way he did against Coventry and Scunthorpe. He should be proud of himself."

Mangan insists either won't be affected by what happened on Saturday, adding: "The amount of games Sads has played, I don't think it will affect him whatsoever.

"The gaffer will talk to Sullay and he'll cut that out of his game. He's done fantastic, he's scored two in two and he's got massive amounts of confidence and massive ability.

"Some of the things he did against Scunthorpe were frightening – I nearly started celebrating in the dugout!

"We're not the sort of team to start digging people out – we've got too much team spirit and we get on too well."
