Town's James Wallace to have injection
James Wallace is to have an injection to speed up his return for Shrewsbury Town.
The on-loan Sheffield United midfielder has missed the last five games after picking up a knee injury in the 2-1 defeat to Southend on February 2.
Wallace has struggled to respond to treatment and now the club have decided on a jab to help him over it.
"We've got some good news on James Wallace - it looks like he's going to have an injection that will move him along quickly because he's a good player who want to get going again," said manager Micky Mellon.
"He hasn't been able to get going with this knee injury, but I think he's having the injection towards the weekend which will clear it up."
Asked when the 24-year-old will be available, Mellon said: "I think it's too early to say - it will be one of those where he'll just start training when he's alright.
"We'll see what happens when he has the injection.
"But I'm looking forward to getting him going again because he was flying before he took a bad knock against Southend."
Wallace joined Town on January 12 but has been restricted to just five appearances and Mellon is looking forward to seeing the former Tranmere man available again.
"He's someone I'm looking forward to having back in the squad because I like all the qualities he's got," said the boss.
"I like his mentality and I like where he is in his own mindset with how he knows he needs to get going, which is good.
"So everything is pointing towards having another good player in the building."
