Jack Grimmer overjoyed at Shrewsbury winner
FA Cup hero Jack Grimmer admitted scoring Shrewsbury Town's winner against Sheffield Wednesday was the best moment of his career.
The on-loan Fulham right-back, who turned 22 last week, headed Town's third goal in the seventh minute of time added on to clinch a 3-2 win.
It earned the club its first fifth-round tie in 25 years, saying: "I can safely say that's the highlight of my career so far.
"To score the winner in the 97th minute in an FA Cup tie to get us through to the fifth round was something I'll never forget.
"I scored on my home debut for Port Vale two seasons ago but a goal in the league doesn't compare to a winner in the FA Cup.
"Everyone thought it was going to be a replay. I don't think there's a bigger smile in the whole of the UK because I don't score very often."
Town were 2-1 down with three minutes of normal time left before Shaun Whalley and Grimmer struck.
And the young Scot revealed his family, who had travelled down from Scotland to celebrate his birthday last week, missed his big moment.
He said: "It was unlucky for them because my family just left before the game and went back up to Scotland.
"If only they could have been here to share it with me and celebrate. But I'm sure they'll see it on the TV and it's something I'll never forget.
"Being the FA Cup, the coverage is second to none so I'm sure they will see it a few times later on."
