Micky Mellon: It was one of those days.
Shrewsbury Town manager Micky Mellon felt it was "one of those days" after his side slipped to a 1-0 defeat against fellow promotion hopefuls Burton.
A wonder goal from defender George Taft was enough to secure the win for Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's side in a scrappy game at the Pirelli Stadium.
And the Town boss felt his side were unfortunate to slip to their first defeat since November, saying: "The performance was very good and we've been undone by a bit of fine detail from a corner.
"Apart from maybe 10-15 minutes of the second-half when we stopped doing the things that have brought us success, we were in total control and the performance was pretty good.
"We're disappointed at losing a goal like that but the lad will never hit a better one in his life. It hurts, but we'll dust ourselves down and move on."
Town's fortune was summed up with just two minutes to go when wing-back Mickey Demetriou fired horribly over when just yards from goal.
Mellon said: "We got opportunities at the end where we've rolled the ball across goal and maybe not hit the target.
"When Mickey Demetriou fires over you're thinking it's not going to be your day. You're hoping he's going to slot that in, but credit to the lad for getting up there.
"Technically, he's a very good footballer and we worked the ball well to make the chance but it just wasn't to be."
The Town chief threw caution to the wind for the last 10 minutes with three strikers on the pitch and Bobby Grant operating in the hole.
Mellon said: "I wanted to get strikers on because I felt they would sit deep after they scored and they did that," Mellon said.
"Maybe a final pass or our final cross could have been better, and with a wee bit more composure we might have been having a different conversation.
"We're disappointed not to send our fans home with something. I mean how good were they today?
"That support is as good as it gets for me so we're all really disappointed not to send them home with what they really deserved."
