The 22-year-old striker has arrived at the New Bucks Head after turning down fresh terms at Kidderminster Harriers.

A product of Crewe Alexandra’s youth set-up, he had a trial at Leicester City last year – playing for their under-23s side.

“He’s got everything you’d want from a striker. He’s a machine of a lad,” said Cowan. “First and foremost, he wants to score goals and he’ll also bring plenty of pace and athleticism to the team.

“He scored a good number of goals for Kidderminster last season but was frustrated with his lack of game time towards the end.”

Brown scored eight league goals, 10 across all competitions, for Harriers last season – one of those coming as the Bucks lost 2-0 at Aggborough on January 1. He made 33 league appearances, 16 from the bench.

“They wanted him to stay but he’s decided he wants to be playing more regularly. He just didn’t quite fit into their style of play,” said Cowan.

“It’s all about styles. We’ve had plenty of very good players offered to us this summer, players that fans would have been excited about, but they wouldn’t have fit into our style.

“Andre ticks all the boxes. We moved quickly to get him, he’s a real coup for the club.”

Brown has also played for Worcester City and Rushall Olympic, where he enjoyed a stunning five-goal debut.

He is one of three strikers of the Bucks’ books, along with Amari Morgan-Smith and Daniel Udoh.

On his frontline, former defender Cowan added: “As a centre-half, I wouldn’t want to be facing any of those three.

“Whether we go for all three or one or two, they’re going to cause problems.

“As a defender, you won’t want to see Amari going off and then Andre or Dan coming on – or Amari coming on for one of them, whichever way around it is.

“There’s pace, athleticism and goals in that front three. We’ve recruited very well.”
