Rob Smith: Don't feel sorry for us
New Bucks boss Rob Smith does not want people to feel sorry for his side despite their unlucky loss away to Gloucester.
Telford gave an impressive showing but still await their first three points of the season.
Smith and assistant Larry Chambers, who returned to the club on Thursday, oversaw an action-packed 1-0 reversal in their first game back in charge, the side spurning numerous openings.
But Smith wants no sympathy and knows only hard work will get them off the foot of the National League North table.
He said: "The main thing from Saturday is that the effort was there.
"We asked them to give 100 per cent out there and you can see from them after the match that they've given everything.
"We had them camped in but it didn't quite come off – that's the way football goes.
"That's the way it has been going for Telford, but no-one is going to feel sorry for us."
Smith reckons that he and Chambers have learned an awful lot about their squad in a short space of time.
"There's some very good players here," said the Bucks boss, whose side were hosting Brackley town this afternoon.
"But at the same time we know there's definitely some very hard work to be done."
