Bucks aim for new boss by weekend
AFC Telford will waste no time in finding a new manager with an appointment possible before the weekend.
Chairman Ian Dosser yesterday admitted the Bucks are keen to act quickly in finding a replacement for Steve Kittrick, who was sacked on Sunday, just five games into the season.
"Ideally we want to make a quick appointment," said Dosser. "We don't want to look like we are rushing into it, though, in the past we have been accused of being too slow in the process."
While the club are aware of the importance of finding the right man, it is understood they want to get someone in place before a Bank Holiday double bill against Gloucester and Brackley.
Telford took just one point from the opening five games and while the campaign remains very much in its infancy, the club are wary of letting things drift for too long with the team currently rock bottom of National League North.
Former Wrexham boss Kevin Wilkin is in the frame while former Bucks boss and current Hednesford chief Rob Smith would be a popular appointment among supporters, if persuaded to return.
Dosser claimed a combination of "disastrous results and falling attendances" as the chief reason for calling time on Kittrick's eight-month reign.
