Boss urges AFC Telford fans to be patient
Boss Steve Kittrick insists AFC Telford United fans must be patient as his side go for their first win of the season at the third time of asking tomorrow.
Kittrick is looking to go one better as the Bucks host former Championship side Stockport County in their most high-profile visiting opposition of the season.
It comes after a 3-0 defeat to Lowestoft and Tuesday's 0-0 draw against Curzon Ashton. Kittrick is sweating on target man Dave Hibbert, who lasted just six minutes of his home debut.
And although he was still looking at drafting in a replacement, on-loan Shrewsbury Town striker Kaiman Anderson looks like getting the nod for his first start after 84 minutes in midweek.
But the Bucks chief says fans must give the squad time to gel as a whole new team gets used to each other.
Kittrick said: "We have 18 new players in and they're getting to know each other and getting to know what's expected.
"They're getting to know each other's temperament – sometimes it takes half a season to do that. You have got to try to add and people must stay patient."
Kittrick wants to make the New Bucks Head a place here visiting teams come to fear.
He said: "We want to win at home and we want to make this place a bit of a fortress, but we're not going to get it your own way.
"Some teams will come here and want to play, others will have never played in a stadium like this, so tomorrow will be different again."
But he is relishing pitting his wits against the Hatters and boss Neil Young.
Kittrick said: "I know Neil quite well - I know how he plays and what he wants. They're big and strong, they've won the opening two games and will have a lot of confidence.
"I've matched up with Neil a few times, when we were at Chester and I think we are even on results. Let's hope we can get one up on him tomorrow."
