AFC Telford looking to make two new signings this week
AFC Telford boss Steve Kittrick is aiming to add two more players in time for Saturday's clash at Wrexham.
The Bucks chief, who took the reins in December, has already made three signings since the January transfer window opened.
But with Telford still sitting 11 points adrift of safety at the foot of the Conference Premier, he knows more reinforcements are urgently needed.
He said: "There will be, hopefully, another couple coming in this week which is positive for us.
"It will give us competition for places. It is healthy to have that because it keeps people on their toes."
Kittrick would not be drawn on the identityof either target, but neither is likely to be signed in time for tomorrow's re-arranged FA Trophy second round clash at AFC Fylde, which was postponed on Saturday due to a waterlogged pitch.
The Telford boss has already signed Bradford Park Avenue midfielder Jack Rea on a permanent deal until the end of the season and added defenders Kyle Dixon and Ben McLaughlin on loan from Notts County and Everton respectively.
Kittrick has hinted that the majority of signings will be tied to deals until at least the end of the season.
He said: "We are trying to add players for the long term not the short term.
"We are trying to get players in for the season, maybe this season and next season, not just the month."
Kittrick, whose team are unbeaten in four games, had been looking forward to seeing The Bucks in action again on Saturday.
But he was philosophical about the postponement which followed an early morning pitch inspection.
He said: "It's just one of those things. You can't legislate for the weather.
"We can't do anything about the postponement. We have just got to go there with the same positivity that we would have done on Saturday."
