Josh O'Keefe backed to shine for AFC Telford
AFC Telford United manager Liam Watson says new loan signing Josh O'Keefe will bring goals, drive and experience to his squad.
Watson snapped up O'Keefe ahead of last night's transfer deadline on an initial month's loan.
The Bucks chief has been aiming to strengthen his midfield following the team's disappointing start to the Vanarama Conference season which has seen them lose four of their opening six games.
And he said: "He is competitive in the middle of the pitch, he's got a great goal record, he's a big strong lad and he's got a bit of experience.
"Kidderminster paid quite a lot of money for him last year. To bring him in on loan he's good for us and he's a leader, a nice lad who has had a decent career.
"He started at Blackburn, he's played in the league for Lincoln and I've had him on loan at Southport for a little spell and he did great for me."
He added: "The loan spell will be initially for a month and then we'll see what happens.
"The deal happened pretty quickly yesterday. He's had an injury and then couldn't get back in the Kidderminster team because Kidderminster have been doing well and he just wants to play football."
Watson added that one or two of his current squad could depart to make way, although no moves out of the New Bucks Head are imminent.
Watson said: "Josh Hancock went out on loan to Witton last week and there are a couple that need to go out and get some games.
"But up to now I haven't got any definites lined up."
Meanwhile, Watson has confirmed that striker Tony Gray will be fully fit for Saturday's home game against Dover after picking up a dead leg part way through last weekend's 2-1 defeat at Dartford.
He added that full-back Chris Lever, who made the bench for the first time this season on Saturday, has fully recovered from his recent ham-string injury and will be in contention for a first start of the season against Dover.
He said: "He's fit now so he comes into my thoughts for Saturday, we need to stop conceding goals and that's his game, that's what he gives you (stability at the back)."
