Phil Trainer is sure AFC Telford will survive
AFC?Telford United midfielder Phil Trainer is sure the club will win their Blue Square Premier relegation battle this season.
But the 31-year-old insists they will have to reproduce the same work ethic displayed in last night's battling goaless draw against promotion hopefuls Luton to do so.
Despite the team's woeful current run of 14 league games without victory, he is still adamant the team has enough ability to defy the drop.
Last night's stalemate lifted Telford out of the relegation zone, although all of their main rivals still have games in hand on them.
Trainer said: "There is a bit of pressure at the moment because we are down there but all we can do is keep turning up and keep putting in the hard work in.
"And if we do that like we did last night I'm pretty sure we will get out of it. I have always thought from day one we will be OK and I am still saying it now."
Last night's display also eased the pressure on manager Andy Sinton, who has come under fire from supporters angry at the team's alarming form.
And Trainer added: "He has shown faith in us by bringing us in so we have got to repay him by getting the points and turning it round for him."
