AFC Telford boss thwarted in three transfer deals
AFC Telford United manager Andy Sinton has been thwarted in his efforts to strengthen his squad after he revealed three potential deals have stalled.
The Bucks boss had been hoping to add an attacker and a defender to his squad in time for the trip to Braintree tomorrow.
He said: "I am still working on one or two but there have been no developments. It has not been for the want of trying though.
"Three players I thought I had, we have spoken to their agents and they said they are going to wait on other offers.
"It has been frustrating but things can change in football by the hour."
Sinton added that the club may 're-visit' its interest in former Cambridge United defender Michael Wylde, who spent last month on loan with the Bucks and was released by his parent club yesterday.
But the Telford chief is primarily looking at players who will provide extra quality at the other end of the pitch.
He said: "I'm looking at what will give us more penetration and a goal threat, but I would like a defender just to tidy things up."
The Bucks will be without injured trio Richard Davies (ankle), Jay Smith (abductor) and Michael Briscoe (back) while transfer-listed Chris Blackburn is still struggling for fitness.
Luke Hubbins remains a doubt because of the imminent birth of his child.
