Andy Sinton insists he's right man for AFC Telford

AFC Telford United manager Andy Sinton today insisted he is still the right man to turn things around despite watching his side slip into the Blue Square Premier relegation zone.

But the Bucks chief admitted he needs to add more pace and creativity to his attack following Saturday's 3-1 defeat at home to relegation rivals Southport.

The loss stretched Telford's winless run in the league to 11 games and Sinton will be working hard this week to try to bolster his squad ahead of tomorrow's trip to Hereford United.

Sinton understood the fans frustration at the club's current position but maintains he is still the right man to get them out of the slump.

He said: "Without a doubt. I'm the man. That is not in doubt from my point of view. Whether other people are doubting that, I can't stop people thinking.

"But the manager is working as hard as he can and trying to get the best out of the hand that he has been dealt.

"We will roll our sleeves up and go again. We will push forward and we will try to get that win that will do everyone the world of good on Tuesday night."

Sinton brought in defender Joe Lamplough and Gerard Kinsella last week to help replace a number of recently departed players.

But the Telford boss added that he would be doing all he could to add extra quality to his team in the coming days.

He said: "We have got to get some pace in the side that can turn the opposition around and be more creative.

"And that is where we will be looking over the next couple of days, hopefully ready for Tuesday, and if not Tuesday then ready for Saturday.

"We know where we need to be but it is just who I can get. I spent all week trying to add to the team that will make a difference.

"I will be busy today and maybe by Tuesday night we will have one or two faces that will make a difference.

"Until we can start putting teams under more pressure higher up the pitch, the ball will keep coming back and we will be forced to defend."
