AFC Telford manager hails emigrating Jon Brown
AFC Telford United manager Andy Sinton today paid tribute to the contribution of midfielder Jon Brown, who is set to emigrate to Thailand.
Brown played his last game for the Bucks on New Year's Day against Wrexham before he departs for the Far East to pursue his playing career abroad.
The winger, who arrived last January on loan from Southport before earning a permanent deal in the summer, was a mainstay of the team which retained Blue Square Premier status last season.
Brown has been in and out of the team this season but Sinton praised the player's attitude and said he was looking for similar characteristics from any new recruits that should arrive at the New Bucks Head this month.
He said: "We wish Jon well. We took Jon this time last year when we were in a similar sort of situation where we needed battlers and workers and Jon epitomises that.
"Last year, he was one of the first names on the teamsheet. He is a fantastic lad. He goes with our blessing.
"We say thanks for what he has done and, certainly, for what he did last year."
