AFC Telford boss admits Wrexham were better side
AFC Telford United manager Andy Sinton admitted his team had been beaten by a better side in their 2-0 Blue Square Premier defeat to Wrexham.
The Dragons completed a festive double with their victory coming less than a week after a 4-1 success at the Racecourse Ground.
And Sinton added that his team needed to cut out defensive lapses and provide better protection for their 'overworked' goalkeeper Ryan Young.
He said: "For 70 minutes I thought we put in a real shift. We were determined, competitive, energetic. We have just been undone by a better side.
"That is why they are second and we are sort of struggling at the minute. In the first-half, there was nothing in the game.
"One of my lads switches off again and we get punished, because better teams will punish you.
"It was nip and tuck but again we give a free header from six yards. You can't concede that amount of space in your own box. You win games by being rock solid at the back.
"If you look at our first four games of the season there were three clean sheets, including going to Luton Town and having to play 20 minutes with 10 men and another few minutes with nine men, and Ryan hardly had to make a save.
"But, for me, Ryan is too busy at the moment. Credit to the boys, we have really battled in the last two or three games. We have shown some real determination.
"We are just lacking a little bit of quality, but we will keep rolling our sleeves up."
