Phil Trainer frustrated at missing AFC Telford v Nuneaton FA Cup clash
AFC Telford United midfielder Phil Trainer has admitted he will be a frustrated by-stander this weekend when The Bucks welcome Nuneaton in the FA Cup.
But he is backing his team-mates to safely guide the side through to the next round, where he hopes they will be rewarded with a home tie against a Football League opponent.
Trainer will be forced to sit out the fourth qualifying round clash on Saturday after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season against Grimsby Town.
But the midfielder is keeping his fingers crossed that the squad will ensure their name goes into the first round draw alongside the relative giants of Leagues One and Two.
Trainer said: "It's been in the back of my mind going into every game because I knew I was on four yellow cards and I knew one more was going to put me out.
"The only good thing to come out of it is I am not going to miss a league game, but I would have liked to have played against Nuneaton.
"We have got a bit of a rivalry with them. I'm sure they will bring a few and we will have a few here so it will be a good atmosphere."
