AFC Telford striker Chris Sharp took another step towards recapturing full fitness after completing his first 90 minutes since July last night.

Sharp, who missed the start of the Blue Square Bet Premier League season with a hernia injury, also scored twice as Telford went down 3-2 to Welsh Premier League side Airbus in a friendly at the New Bucks Head.

The ex-New Saints Striker, who finished top of the Bucks scoring charts last season, admitted he is still some way off reaching top form.

But Sharp, who underwent surgery earlier in the season and has since made a handful of substitute appearances, said he was slowly getting closer.

"It's going to take a while to get back to my best," he said. "It's a pretty big injury in terms of recovery time.

"It has been a long hard process but I am getting there slowly but surely.

"It is only going to come with games. Just as long as I can make myself available to the gaffer, the more games I get the sharper I am going to be.

"That was my first 90 minutes since July and I felt a bit blowy at the end but I feel good. I am happy I got through it."
