Andy Sinton sees light at end of tunnel for AFC Telford
Andy Sinton today hailed his AFC Telford warriors and insisted there was "light at the end of the tunnel" after their injury nightmare.
The boss is ready to welcome back several first-team players to his injury-ravaged squad ahead of Saturday's visit of Woking.
Ryan Valentine and Steve Jones could be fit after hamstring and illness problems while Jake Reid is also nearing a return.
The Bucks are winless in six Blue Square Bet Premier games after seeing the team destroyed by injury but Sinton is could call on his walking wounded by the weekend.
He said: "We've been decimated by injuries but there's light at the end of the tunnel and hopefully some of them will take part in training with a view to the weekend.
"Ryan Valentine is close, Steve Jones was missing with illness but he's feeling alright again and Jake Reid should be almost there.
"Chris Blackburn has been to see a specialist with his back which has been a problem since pre-season."
Injuries halted an encouraging start to the season to see the Bucks slip down to 13th, seven points adrift of the play-offs, after Saturday's 1-1 draw with Gateshead.
But Sinton has been delighted with the way the rest of the squad rallied after such a large injury crisis.
"It's rare but we have to get on with it," said Sinton, who is still without the suspended Dan Preston for three more games.
"We've done remarkably well. They'll be closer by the end of the week and hopefully we won't have any more bad luck. We can then disappoint a few boys by leaving them in the stand which is what happened at the start of the season.
"Every team will miss key players, Barcelona have key players, last season Fleetwood had key players and Telford are no different. But everyone at the club has been superb."
