Andy Sinton welcomes midfield battle for places

Telford boss Andy Sinton today admitted his delight at a midfield selection dilemma after injuries and suspensions decimated his squad.

Former Wolves man Nathan Rooney started the first eight games of the Blue Square Bet Premier League campaign, scoring three goals and earning plaudits.

But Richard Davies has been handed the starting role alongside Phil Trainer for the last three games following an impressive substitute appearance at home to Lincoln City.

And Sinton admitted it was a pleasant headache to have.

"Nathan played eight games, and did really well," said Sinton. "I felt he dipped off in a couple of games so in went Richard Davies.

"Both offer different elements to their game. They both get you the odd goal. I'm delighted to have them in my squad."

The performances of both Rooney and Davies alongside the experienced Trainer have given former England international Sinton plenty of food for thought with so many problems elsewhere.
