Dan Preston picks up four-match suspension
AFC Telford defender Dan Preston has been banned for four games while striker Kieron St Aimie will be out for three matches after their dismissals against Newport County on Tuesday, the FA confirmed today.
Preston picked up his second red card of the season during the second half of Telford's 4-2 defeat against the Blue Square Bet Premier leaders when he was sent off following an off-the-ball incident.
The dismissal came on his return to the team from a separate six-game ban following his sending off and violent conduct in the Bucks' 1-0 victory at Luton Town last month.
His latest dismissal came just 21 minutes after St Aimie was sent off following an altercation with County player Danny Crow in which the opposition player was shown a yellow card.
The FA today confirmed the duration of the bans, meaning Preston will miss games against Gateshead, Woking, Dartford and Grimsby while
Telford's five-goal top scorer St Aimie will not be available until the home clash with Grimsby on October 13.
With several players still struggling to shake off injuries, it will further limit Andy Sinton's options for Saturday's trip to Gateshead.
Sinton has reviewed the DVD of the Newport game and said that because of the number of bodies in the way it had been difficult to see what St Aimie had been dismissed for but it would be a waste of time to appeal it.
He said he had no complaints about Preston's dismissal and accepted that the punishment was always likely to have been compounded because of his red card earlier in the season.
Sinton said on Tuesday his team had shown a petulant streak in recent games and the group would again be spoken to about the issue.
He today added that any disciplinary action would be 'kept in house behind closed doors'
"We'll try to put an end to it and move forward because it is costing us dear," he said. "Indiscipline is something we can control. We will deal with it in house."
