Andy Sinton: It's time to back AFC Telford
Boss Andy Sinton today urged AFC Telford United fans to pack out the New Bucks Head as they aim to continue their enviable record against former Football League giants.
The Bucks – who could be close to losing striker Joe Yoffe – entertain Mansfield tomorrow having yet to taste defeat this season in four games against past members of the elite 92.
A famous 1-0 victory at Kenilworth Road over Luton has been backed up by creditable draws against Lincoln City , Stockport County and Cambridge.
The Stags were among the promotion favourites at the start of the season and have brought in 14 new players over the summer, including prolific former Wrexham striker Jake Speight.
But Sinton is hoping that a big crowd at the New Bucks Head will help inspire another strong performance from his side.
"Come and get behind us," Sinton today urged the fans. "We've made a good start to the season.
"We've been going toe-to-toe with a lot of clubs steeped in league history spending big money.
"We'd like to see as many as possible get behind us and try to create an atmosphere that helps us and we'll try to create a performance that they can be proud of."
The Bucks chief still has several injury concerns with left-back Ryan Valentine's participation in the balance as he recovers from a back injury.
But the players that pushed Cambridge United to the brink of defeat in last weekend's 3-3 draw are all expected to be in contention for tomorrow.
Winger Luke Hubbins remains on course for a possible return some time next week from his hamstring injury and striker Chris Sharp is also making good progress towards returning to action after successfully rejoining his team-mates for training this week following a hernia operation.
Meanwhile, Yoffe may be on the verge of leaving the New Bucks Head without playing a competitive game for the club.
Yoffe joined in the summer on non-contract terms but has yet to feature for the Bucks this season.
It has been reported that an unnamed Blue Square North club has put in seven days notice for the 25-year-old forward.
