A controversial goal on the stroke of half-time was the catalyst as AFC Telford United slipped to a narrow defeat.

The Bucks looked to have been awarded a goal kick deep into stoppage time, only for the officials to change their minds and award a corner.

And it was from that set-piece that Kevin Roberts ghosted in unmarked to fire Cambridge United in front.

Telford got back on level terms on 53 minutes as leading striker Chris Sharp finished clinically off a cross from the impressive Will Salmon.

But the U's scored what proved to be the winner just three minutes later, Tom Shaw pivoting in the box and curling a neat finish beyond the dive of keeper Ryan Young.
