A goal in each half condemned AFC Telford to a Boxing Day defeat at home to Blue Square Bet Premier leaders Wrexham.

Joe Clarke scored from close range off Mark Creighton's knockdown to give the visitors a 13th minute lead in front of a bumper festive crowd of 4,991.

Telford came close to getting level as Sean Newton hit the post with a header before Chris Sharp had his shot headed off the line by keeper Joslain Meyebi.

The Dragons were lucky to keep a full complement of 11 on the pitch when Danny Wright escaped with a yellow card for an elbow on Telford's Dan Preston.

And the Dragons rubbed salt in the wound as Jake Speight tapped in their second goal on 67 minutes.

Telford's misery was complete when Phil Trainer was sent off in stoppage time, having picked up a second booking.
