AFC Telford United full-back Sean Newton has been drafted into the England C squad for their friendly in Gibraltar next week, joining team-mate Shane Killock in the 18-man party, writes ALEX?JAMES.

Newton, who has been capped by England C before, will hope to be named alonsgide his club skipper in boss Paul Fairclough's side to face the Islanders on Tuesday night.

Meanwhile, Bucks striker Adam Proudlock is ready to hand boss Andy Sinton a fitness boost by stepping up his comeback from an ankle injury.

Proudlock, who picked up the injury in the defeat to Gateshead earlier this month, was expected to be out for around six weeks but assistant manager Darren Read is hoping he will be back quicker than expected.

"Adam will be having his cast off next week and going into a special boot," said read.
