Skipper Shane Killock is backing AFC Telford United to re-kindle their early season form in time for the all-important play-offs.

The Bucks have been in promotion contention all season but have won just one of their last five Blue Square Bet North games.

That dip in form has seen them all-but concede the title to Alfreton - but Killock insists they will come good again.

"The mood in the camp is good, like it has been all season, and we're looking forward to the final push," he said.

"We have lost a little bit of form but everyone goes through that at some point.

"We've had such a great season that something had to give.

"You can't go on winning all season - that's unheard of, unless you're Arsenal in the Premier League a few years ago.

"I'm sure we can pick it up again for the play-offs. We're thinking positive and backing ourselves to get it right."

Killock, still only 22, has established a reputation as one of the best defenders outside the Blue Square Bet Premier.

Taking over as Telford's captain in pre-season, he has gone on to sign an extended contract to keep him at the club.

And he revealed: "This has been the first season where I've pretty much played every game and I'm really enjoying it.

"When the manager asked me before Christmas if I was interested in signing a new deal I said yes straight away. There were no ifs or buts about it."

l Telford's end of season presentation evening will take place on Saturday, May 21, in a marquee on the New Bucks Head pitch.

Management and players will be attending the event, with tickets - including entertainment and a hot buffet - available for £20 each.
