Andy Sinton believes AFC Telford United's 10th away win of the season has sent out a clear statement of intent to their Blue Square Bet North promotion rivals.

The Bucks jumped up to third in the table as a result of their convincing 3-0 victory at Hyde last night, their fifth win in their last six outings.

That could change tonight with fourth-placed Boston hosting title favourites Alfreton but the Telford boss insists he is not worrying about what happens elsewhere.

"A 3-0 win does our goal difference a world of good and sends out a message to everyone else," said Sinton.

"We've done our job and we can now sit back and see what happens this evening.

"Obviously I'm hoping for other results to go our way but I can't do anything about it and I certainly won't be glued to the radio or teletext."

"I was very pleased last night. These are the hardest games and it's winning at these type of places that can win leagues and get you into play-offs," he added.

Meanwhile, reports in Staffordshire have linked Stafford Rangers midfielder Levi Reid with a move to the New Bucks Head — though Sinton has played that down.

But the Telford chief did confirm he has put in seven days' notice to talk to an un-named defender and revealed he had spoken to Stafford chief Matt Elliott.

"I haven't asked about Levi, though he is someone we aware of," said Sinton. "I have spoken with Matt, but that was about someone else."

  • Wolves reserves are at the New Bucks Head tonight, with Bolton Wanders the visitors in the Barclays Premier Reserve League. Entry is £4 for adults and £1 concessions. Wolves season ticket holders free.
