AFC Telford United claimed a hard-fought victory over one of their main promotion rivals to strengthen their Blue Square Bet North title challenge.

Telford took the lead on 23 minutes, Andy Brown with a glancing header off a fabulous cross whipped in from the left wing by Sean Newton.

Boston had a chance to get back on level terms in the second half when Andy Brown was penalised for a handball in the penalty area.

But Danny Sleath's spot-kick was superbly saved by keeper Ryan Young, who tipped it around the post for a corner.
