With day two washed out, both sides did their bit to engineer a result when play resumed at Aston Rowant this morning.

The hosts moved on from their overnight 38-3 and added a further 42 before declaring - handing Shropshire a first-innings lead of 184.

Luke Tinsley and Henry Blofield then blasted a rapid 115 in 10 overs, before the visitors set about claiming the 10 wickets needed for victory.

And they started well with Alex Wyatt striking twice in the third over - reducing Oxfordshire to 2-2.

Wyatt went on to grab a third wicket before lunch, by which time the home side had managed to recover to 65-3.
