James Ralph wins call to face Birmingham Bears on home turf
Bridgnorth's James Ralph will be aiming to help topple the Birmingham Bears at his home ground tonight (5.30pm).
Ralph has been brought in to the Shropshire side as a late replacement for Rob Foster, who has been ruled out of the friendly at Bridgnorth's Cricket Meadow because of work commitments.
The Cats are otherwise expected to field an unchanged side for the game, which pits them against Warwickshire's recently-rebranded T20 side, from that which lost to Cheshire in the Unicorns Knockout Trophy last weekend.
Shropshire chairman of selectors Brian Foxall said: "It makes sense in many ways for James to replace Rob.
"That is the way we have gone but otherwise it will be the same team that played against Cheshire.
"James is almost certain to play Minor Counties Championship cricket this year and he brings a lot of experience.
"He is also familiar with the surroundings and it will be good for Bridgnorth to have one of their own playing in the game."
A crowd of around 500 is expected for the game, which will see several of the Bears' big names in action.
Spectators are asked to please use public parking spaces in the town, the nearest of which are off Whitburn Street.
