The Tigers beat Peterborough Phantoms 5-4 last night, meaning tonight's game at Telford Ice rink against Basingstoke Bison had a party atmosphere as the home team triumphed 7-1.

Head Coach Tom Watkins said: "I am sure it will sink in eventually, but at the moment it is just a fantastic feeling. It has been building up all week, so I am really pleased that we took the league with a win.

"We will enjoy the moment tonight and come to work against Basingstoke. All the guys are pretty excited about celebrating with the fans at home.

"I also want to thank my family, who have helped me focus on my work a lot."

Watkins added: "It's more a feeling of a relief at the moment, rather than elation. It is great to see the boys celebrating, and that is what I like to see.

"They've worked really hard to get here and have had a lot of pressure this year. The one thing we do as a team is work hard and if we do that every night, we'll be very hard to beat."
