The county side have made four changes to their side for the three-day game, which starts in Bridgnorth on Sunday.

Whitchurch's Omar Ali, Shrewsbury's Steve Leach, Bridgnorth's Ryan Lockley and Simon Gregory from Shifnal have all been handed call-ups. They replace Shrewsbury trio Elliot Green, Anthony Parker and Sam Griffiths and Reigate Priory's Neil Saker.

Chairman Toby Shaw said: "We are just strengthening the batting. There has been a lack of runs so far this season and we haven't been able to control the game because of that.

"Bridgnorth is a very fast-scoring ground so we need to be able to compete from a runs perspective."

Oswestry's Joe Carrasco, Wolverhampton's Ross Aucott and Quatt's Adrian Evans all retain their places having been handed debuts in last month's defeat against Herefordshire.

And new Shropshire captain James Ralph said he hoped to establish a more settled XI in the future.

He said: "I'd like to keep a bit of continuity. There is no point taking three in and three out every game.

"We have got players pushing should people suffer with form but I am looking to keep the same sort of side to get the team spirit going."

Team: James Ralph (Bridgnorth), Omar Ali (Whitchurch), Ross Aucott (Wolverhampton), Joe Carrasco (Oswestry), Adrian Evans (Quatt), Steve Leach (Shrewsbury), Ryan Lockley (Bridgnorth), Gurman Randhawa (Ossett), Ben Sanderson (Rotherham Town), Tom Weston (Bridgnorth). 12th man is Charlie Morris (Shrewsbury).
