Tom Watkins looking for improvements in Telford Tigers

Tom Watkins will be demanding an improvement from his players when they make the trip to EPL basement outfit Peterborough Phantoms tonight.

The Telford Tigers boss watched his side reach fifth in the standings at the weekend, with home and away wins over Milton Keynes Lightning.

But the nature of Sunday's victory, when they were taken all the way to a penalty shoot-out after letting a two-goal lead slip, disappointed Watkins.

He said: "This is a big week for us. Peterborough never make it easy in their own building.

"The crowd get very involved and make it tough for visiting teams. Peterborough can get themselves going very quickly and that will be a big danger for us."

Peterborough are one of the few sides to inflict defeat on Telford since mid-December, when they won 5-3 at home just a few days after Christmas.

Watkins added: "Peterborough are capable of scoring two or three goals very quickly. We saw that happen the last time we played there. We have to put in a better performance than we did on Sunday."

James Smith is a doubt for Tigers with a groin strain.
