Olympics off target for Telford's Danielle Brown

Telford Paralympic double gold medallist Danielle Brown will not target a place at the 2016 Olympics in Rio.

Brown captured her first able-bodied British archery title on Sunday. That success, as well as golds in the London 2012 and Beijing 2008 Paralympics, all came in the compound event.

But to qualify for Rio the 25-year old would have to use a recurve bow instead of her favoured compound bow, something she has ruled out.

"I love shooting the compound and think I still have a lot to give," she said.

Instead she will turn her attentions to the able-bodied World Championships in Antalya, Turkey which run from September 29-6 October and the Para-archery Worlds in Bangkok, Thailand in November.

She will then target a third consecutive paralympic gold medal in Rio.
