AFC Telford bring in Lamplough and Kinsella

AFC Telford United manager Andy Sinton today replenished his depleted ranks with the signings of defender Joe Lamplough and midfielder Gerard Kinsella.

Former Hull City and Mansfield full-back Lamplough, who was most recently with Kettering, has been challenged by the Bucks boss to prove he is worth a deal after joining on a non-contract basis.

While one-time Everton youth player Kinsella has finalised a one-month loan from League Two newcomers Fleetwood Town, where he has yet to make a senior appearance.

And there could be more new faces through the door at the New Bucks Head as Sinton has been toiling through his contacts book since the departures of Darren Byfield, Chris Sharp, Greg Wylde and Jon Brown over the past week.

Sinton said: "We have got other irons in the fire, but it's not that easy. We are low on numbers but I won't bring players in just for the sake of bringing them in.

"But we also lost out on two or three experienced players - one we couldn't afford while one didn't want to come because we are part-time."

But Sinton believes Lamplough, 22, and Kinsella, 21, possess the youthful energy to pep up a side which has slumped to the bring of the relegation zone after losing three of their last four Blue Square Premier outings.

The manager said: "Joe has played in a couple of squad games and he's not asked for a penny. He was released by Hull but he's played at a good level.

"Sometimes when you take an experienced player on loan they feel put out, but he's delighted to be here and it is up to him to try and earn a deal.

"We have also taken Gerard on loan and he has a real desire, energy and commitment to his game. They will both help to freshen the squad up."
