Mixed bag for Shropshire golfer Ashley Chesters

England international golfer Ashley Chesters today continued a mixed start to life Down Under.

Chesters, from Hawkstone Park, made a satisfactory opening to the Australian Master of the Amateurs event by carding a one-over-par 73 at Royal Melbourne.

But the Shropshire & Herefordshire first teamer struggled to a 78 in the second round today to drop down to a share of 23rd place in the 54-strong international field

The prestigious event, which includes many of the world's leading amateurs, is the first of four tournaments Chesters will play in Australia between now and early February.
