Telford Tiger Tom Watkins in GB team call-up

Telford Tigers player-coach Tom Watkins has been selected as part of GB's initial 34 man squad ahead of two international games against the Netherlands and the forthcoming World Championships in Kiev, Ukraine, next month.

Great Britain head coach, Paul Thompson will later trim the squad to around 26 players who will take part in the Netherlands games, after which the team of 23 to travel to Kiev will be confirmed.

Watkins is named as part of the defensive team.

The 33-year-old has been a regular selection for the British squad having started his international career in the GB junior team.

GB will play their two warm up games against the Netherlands at the Nottingham NIC on Saturday April 9 and the Hull Arena on Sunday April 10.
