Sinton warns of tough test at Gainsborough Trinity

Boss Andy Sinton believes AFC Telford United are heading to their sternest test of the season so far when they travel to big spending Gainsborough Trinity tomorrow.

The Bucks have made a flying start to the Blue Square Bet North campaign, opening with a 5-0 drubbing of Hyde and following up with a 1-0 win at Vauxhall Motors on Tuesday - despite having goalkeeper Ryan Young sent off.

But Sinton knows they can not afford to drop their standards if they are to make it three in a row against a much-fancied Gainsborough outfit managed by former Aston Villa chief Brian Little.

The Lincolnshire side's squad includes former Buck Gavin Cowan, though he is struggling with an ankle injury, and ex-Shrewsbury man Sam Aiston.

"It's going to be a good game and a good test," said Sinton. "They are one of the sides who are fancied to be up there.

"They've spent quite a bit of money on wages, if the figures I'm hearing they're paying people are true.

"We're going to have to be at our best to get something but we're full of confidence.

"The spirit seems good and the two wins in the last week have given everyone a boost."

Sinton is hoping striker Andy Brown, who has scored in both games so far, will be able to feature despite an on-going hamstrings worry.
