Boss Andy Sinton is eager for AFC Telford United to show more belief in tonight's friendly with Hereford United.
The Bucks entertain the League Two side (kick-off 7.30pm) in their fourth pre-season outing.
Assistant manager Darren Read will be in charge in the dug-out, with Sinton abroad until Friday.
But the Telford chief is still dictating affairs from afar, picking the team and issuing a rallying cry to his new-look line-up.
"It's a good squad and it just needs a little bit of help," said Sinton. "They just need to believe in themselves a little more.
"There's ability in that dressing room, there's experience in that dressing room and there's pace in that dressing room.
"They're a little bit tentative at times and they've got to come to this place and cope with the expectation. That's part of going to the next level.
"We'll be massive underdogs tonight," he added. "Hereford will probably come and keep a lot of the ball but we'll acquit ourselves well, I hope."
Meanwhile, first team coach John Psaras is confident that the four trialists mulling over offers will all sign by the weekend.
Right-back Martyn Naylor, midfielders Will Richards and Richard Davies and winger Tyree Clarke are all considering terms.
Left winger Sean Evans, who was with the club last season, also has a deal on the table.
"You can tell they want to be here," said Psaras. "They would all be taking a drop in money from what they were doing last season.
l Entry tonight is £8 for adults, £5 for concessions and £1 for under-16s.
