Boss Andy Sinton has vowed to start pruning his squad after using 21 players in AFC Telford United's 5-1 victory at Market Drayton Town.
The Bucks boss used the friendly to take a look at eight trialists and made nine substitutions at half-time.
The Telford boss is now ready to start making decisions on who stays and who goes.
"Everyone's done well in their own way but I've got to start making some decisions soon because we can't keep carrying 21 players into a game," said Sinton.
"That's going to be tough, but there were a few answered questions in my mind - some good and one or two negatives.
"I know what we need. I still think we're a little bit short in one or two areas, but we've got four or five weeks to get that right."
Former Shrewsbury midfielder Will Richards was the pick of the trialists, the 18-year-old scoring in the comfortable victory, while ex-Norwich winger Tyree Clarke is also likely to get another chance.
There was also a first outing for right-back Will Salmon, who was with Ebbsfleet United last season, and winger Philip John, another player known to the Telford chief.
Walsall duo, defender Rory Wood and midfielder Richard Davies, each featured in the second half, while full-back Martyn Naylor played the first period and goalkeeper Dave Maguire came on for the last 25 minutes.
Drayton midfielder Tom France was stretchered off with a knee injury late in the game and will have to wait until Friday to learn the extent of the damage.
