Shropshire have rung the changes for next month's must-win clash with Staffordshire in the Endsleigh British Senior Bowls Championship, writes CHRIS HUDSON.

The defending champions have no room for error after a defeat to Lancashire in their last outing that has put their hopes of retaining the Crosfield Cup in jeopardy.

Star duo Charlie Weaver of Chester Road and Childs Ercall's Peter Farmer were both unavailable for the Lancashire game but are back in the fold for the big match on Sunday, July 4.

Weaver will play in the home leg at District while Farmer is named in the away team heading to Woodfield No 1.

There is also a place in the home side for Mark Holland of Chester Road, who has been draughted in off the reserve list.

Left out are Castlefields' Paul Williams, Simon Parsonage of Burway and Chester Road's Martin Lloyd. All three have been put on reserve for the away leg.

"We've chosen a Whitchurch green so we're putting Whitchurch bowlers in that area," said Dennis Lewis of the Gang Of Four selectors.

"Everyone has a part to play, and we see it as rotation rather than anyone being dropped."

Shropshire have chosen north Shropshire club District for the home leg, the same green they used when they last played Staffordshire in July 2008. They won by 31 at home that day and are eager for a repeat result.

"It's a very important game," added Lewis. "I think it should be a close encounter but I'm sure we can do well."
