McCarthy: Wolves critics are just idiots
Wolves boss Mick McCarthy has blasted the "idiot" national critics who have derided their goals record.
Wolves boss Mick McCarthy has blasted the "idiot" national critics who have derided their goals record.
McCarthy led Wolves to 15th place in their first season back in the Premier League having scored 13 goals at Molineux, including yesterday's 2-1 win over Sunderland.
That game was the first time Wolves had scored more than one at home this year, ending with the lowest home total of a surviving Premier League team since Manchester City finished 14th netting just 10 in front of their own fans three years ago.
The Molineux chief stressed critics should look at the achievement of staying in the Premier League, rather than how it has been done.
He said: "There are some idiots about the place. If we'd stayed up by one goal - and I'm glad it wasn't like that yesterday - it wouldn't have bothered me. We had to stay in the league."
