County bowlers in semi-finals

Shropshire's bowlers stormed into the semi-finals of the Endsleigh British County Championship in superb style.

They scored a home and away win over Derbyshire yesterday to finish top of qualifying group two.

Chester Road pair Charlie Weaver (21-8) and Martin Lloyd (21-11) were best of six winners in a 14 chalk success away at Peakdale.

Bayley's Spencer Clarke, who played in place of Keith Wall at No 10 at Greenfields, won 21-5 to add to 21-10 cards from Wayne Phillips and Paul Williams in a fine 47 point home return.

Shropshire's reward is a crack at North Midlands, who also won their three group games, on August 2.
