Just as they expected, St Georges were brought down to earth with a bump in their Midland Super League game at The George.
Having beaten the Warwick & Worcester big guns by 65 shots in Telford on opening night, the Dragons lost the return by 72 without a single winner in the eight games.
And it means the warning of captain Alan Palin to his side in the Summit Garage-backed premier division side is coming true.
"This is going to happen a lot this season and we know it," stressed Palin, who was voted the best away performer by the home side.
"The quality of the teams in this division means you have got to play well at home and win, because if you lose at home you are going to be in danger of going down."
Most of the St Georges team got off to a decent start at The George, Peter Farmer for one storming into a 12-7 lead.
But home players scored 59 chalks to eight in reply as they turned on the style in six of Monday night's games.
"It was hard going. Everybody started off okay but it was bizarre how most games went," said skipper Palin.
"Considering it was wet, the green ran well. But if was difficult and they are all good players who used their home green well."
