The 30-year-old central midfielder today joined in a loan move until the end of the season from Upton Park, and he will join fellow Hammer Kyel Reid who has already moved to Molineux this month.
Former Albion ballwinner Quashie was at Compton today to complete the move, amid reports that Wolves failed in a near £2m bid for Bristol City's Marvin Elliott, a story denied by the club.
Chief executive Jez Moxey confirmed: "Nigel is here for talks and we hope to complete a loan move to bring him here for the rest of the season."
Quashie has recently completed a loan spell at Birmingham, where he played 10 games, earning four bookings and a sending off, after a persistent foot injury kept him out of action last season.
Blues declined the chance to sign the Scotland international and opted for Quashie's Upton Park team-mate Lee Bowyer instead.
Quashie is ineligible for Saturday's FA Cup fourth round tie against Middlesbrough, cup-tied after playing 90 minutes for Blues against Mick McCarthy's side in the previous round.
Wolves have been looking to strengthen their central midfield options for some time. But the capture of Quashie - whose Hammers is up at the end of the season - should bring an end to that search.
They wanted Elliott but Bristol City won't sell and then failed with a bid of around £1m for QPR strongman Mikele Leigertwood.
Quashie, whose career total of 332 League games includes 29 for Albion, was a £1.75m signing from the Baggies in January 2007 after being signed by Bryan Robson for £1.5m.
The midfielder, who has commanded fees of £8million, was vice-captain of Portsmouth when they won the Championship under Harry Redknapp in 2002-03, but then suffered the distinction of successive relegations for Southampton and Albion.
He previously served Nottingham Forest, after starting his career with QPR and has played for England under-21s.
Quashie's first task will be to win a place in the side as he competes for a slot with captain Karl Henry, Dave Jones and Dave Edwards.
