Despite setting up Neill Collins' headed winner on Saturday against Doncaster, the England under-21 international hasn't been at his best recently.
Matt Jarvis is one of the players vying for Kightly's right wing slot for the trip to Bloomfield Road and the ever-present wide man is aware he may have to fight for his place, just the same as everyone else.
Fifteen-goal top scorer Chris Iwelumo was left on the bench 45 minutes at Doncaster.
"I've not been completely happy with my form over the last couple of games," said Kightly.
"You can't play well either individually or as a team every week - it's not physically possible.
"But there are often games where you just have to work really hard to dig in and grind out a win and I'm happy to do that.
"What you have to do is try to pick up results like we did on Saturday against what was a good Doncaster team. When you don't play as well as you can, it's still important to win games."
Kightly believes a goal could kickstart his form again after notching the last of his seven goals against Burnley eight games ago.
"I'm my own worst critic and it would be nice to get a goal because I've gone a few games without one," he said.
"Seven is a good ratio for me but I've been stuck on it for a while now and would like to kick on and add to it over the next few weeks." The win at Doncaster took Wolves seven points clear at the top and Kightly believes while they may be favourites, promotion remains a dream.
"We've got a little lead at the top but there's still a big job to do to achieve it (promotion)," he said.
"We (players) do talk about promotion but not in the sense that we've done it, it's still dreaming about it."
