The Services Boys' trip to face St Georges next Friday already looks a potentially decisive one.
Castlefields weren't the only away winners either, Ifton storming to an 11-3 success at under-pressure Childs Ercall.
That pressure mounted as bottom club Donnington Wood beat Archibald Worthington 8-6 for only their second win of the season to be just a solitary point behind.
Ford closed the gap on fourth-placed Chester Road by beating them 11-3 while Sir John Bayley saw off Bylet 10-4.
