The UK Open is staged at Bolton's Reebok Stadium in June and is screened live on Sky Sports, with the likes of Phil Taylor and Raymond van Barneveld competing for the trophy.
But 32 'pub qualifiers' will also be heading to the north-west in the summer to try their luck against the big boys - and the road starts at the Lamb Inn in Wrockwardine Wood tomorrow.
The Telford venue is staging one of the qualifiers, with the winner going through to the regional finals in May - also likely to be held at the Lamb.
And eight players at that gathering will be heading to Bolton, along with the qualifiers from the three other regional finals across the country.
"I only found out quite late on that we would be hosting this regional qualifier," said Dave Evans, the Shropshire county team manager.
"I've got most of the top players in the county entered but I've been struggling to get hold of some of them."
Players must arrive at the Lamb Inn tomorrow in time to register before 12 noon, with matches getting under way from 12.30pm.
