By Jonny Drury | Newtown | Transport | Published:

The A483 was blocked today because of a lorry that had jackknifed in the road.

At around 3pm on Monday the main route from Welshpool to Newtown was blocked causing long delays for drivers.

Dyfed-Powys Police were advising people to find an alternative route and the road was still blocked late in the afternoon.

A tweet from Welshpool Police said: "A483 between Welshpool and Newtown at Garthmyl currently blocked due to a jackknifed lorry. Please find an alternative route."
